In consideration of the terms outlined below and compensation offered for services rendered, Contractor, agrees to perform the following services for Client, Dewlyn LLC:  Assignment #  .

Completion of a Full Proposal which is valued at $650 and includes: 

  1. Organization Description. This section is valued at $25
  2. Problem Statement (including needs assessment/gap in services). This section is valued at $150
  3. Target Population (characteristics for location and participants). This section is valued at $25
  4. Project Description (includes methodology for services, goals and objectives). This section is valued at $250
  5. Goals and Evaluation (includes indicators of success and expected outcomes). This section is valued at $100
  6. Program budget (includes itemized list of the program’s expected expenses for the current year – based on actual expenses provided or best practices for a program of this nature). This section is valued at $100



  1. Assignment Due Date:

This assignment shall be completed and submitted to no later than (date),   , which is the deadline for this assignment.  Because of the nature of grant-writing, time is of the essence.  Therefore, there shall be no compensation for late assignments without prior written authorization.


  1. Compensation

In consideration for the services to be performed by Contractor, Client agrees to pay Contractor the following fee: $  for completion of the above referenced assignment # by the due date.


Compensation for this service shall be in subject to the following:

  1. Contractor shall submit completed assignments (only).
  2. Assignments must be submitted by the deadline date.
  3. Upon completion of each Assignment, Contractor shall use PayPal to invoice Dewlyn LLC for the agreed upon work completed. PayPal invoices should be submitted to
  4. Client will pay Contractor via PayPal within 5 business days of receipt of invoice for completed work.
  5. The invoice should include the following: Project name and assignment number, the date of assignment completed, summary of the work performed, and the corresponding agreed upon fee.


  1. Independent Contractor Status

Contractor is an independent contractor, and neither Contractor nor Contractor's employees or contract personnel are, or shall be deemed, Client's employees.


  1. Indemnification

Contractor shall indemnify and hold Client harmless from any loss or liability arising from performing services under this Agreement.


  1. Confidentiality

Contractor acknowledges that disclosure to a third party or misuse of this proprietary or confidential information would irreparably harm Client. Accordingly, Contractor will not disclose or use, either during or after the term of this Agreement, any proprietary or confidential information of Client without Client's prior written permission except to the extent necessary to perform services on Client's behalf.


  1. Proprietary Information.

The product of all work performed under this Agreement (“Work Product”), including without limitation all notes, reports, documentation, drawings, computer programs, inventions, creations, works, devices, models, work-in-progress and deliverables will be the sole property of the Client, and Contractor hereby assigns to the Client all right, title and interest therein. Contractor retains no right to use the Work Product and agree not to challenge the validity of the Client’s ownership in the Work Product.


  1. No Partnership

This Agreement does not create a partnership relationship. Contractor does not have authority to enter into contracts on Client's behalf.


  1. Covenant Not to Compete.

You agree that at no time during the term of this agreement or for a period of one year after the completion of this assignment will you engage in any business activity with the below listed organization or with any of  Dewlyn LLC’s clients which is competitive with the Dewlyn LLC. You agree not to solicit Dewlyn LLC’s clients or attempt to induce other independent contractors associated with the Dewlyn LLC to terminate or breach an employment, contractual or other relationship with Dewlyn LLC.   


  1. Injunctive Relief.

You hereby acknowledge (1) that Dewlyn LLC will suffer irreparable harm if You breach your obligations under this Agreement; and (2) that monetary damages will be inadequate to compensate the company for such a breach.  Therefore, if You breach any of such provisions, then Dewlyn LLC shall be entitled to injunctive relief, in addition to any other remedies at law or equity, to enforce such provisions.

      • Explain when and where the organization was established
      • Explain who established the organization and why
      • Discuss what the organization has accomplished since their start date.
      • List agency board of directors and key staff
      • List partnerships (example: United Way, Atlanta GA. ABC Organization partners with the United Way to deliver food baskets to needy children).
    2. Problem Statement:
      • Clearly state the main problem in the first sentence or the first paragraph.
      • Cite research supporting the need for the project: in the nation, state, and in the Organization’s target area.
      • Describe who is affected by the problem.
      • State when and where the problem exists.
      • Document the factors contributing to the problem.
      • Document current or past efforts to address the problem.
      • Discuss the consequences of not dealing with the problem
      • Optional:  Discuss the applicant’s history or expertise in dealing with the problem.
    3. Target Population:
      • Refer to the target population listed for this organization.  With the exception of national or statewide programs, the characteristics for the target population should be based solely on the people that will be served by this organization. 
        • Target population (people, city, county, and state) is clearly defined
        • Characteristics of people targeted (age range, gender, ethnicity, education level, and income level)
        • Characteristics of location area where services are rendered (poverty, crime, income/unemployment, housing, schools, etc.)
        • Changes in the target population that may relate to why you’re asking for grant funds
    4. Project Description:
      • Project is described in clear concise manner
      • Services and service strategies are outlined considering relevant research & best practice
      • Proposed services are arranged logically to address the problem statement
      • Services are linked to program goals and outcomes
      • Some awareness of culture and diversity is indicated
      • Clear anticipation of resources and potential challenges are addressed
      • Community linkages and gateway services are presented
      • Screening and assessment tools are listed (if applicable)
    5. Program Goals and Evaluation:
      • Goals: List 3 Program goals (example: ABC Organization will deliver food baskets to 100 low-income children in our target area every quarter during our fiscal year).
      • Evaluation - This is evidence that your project succeeded or failed.List your indicator of success using:
        • Process Evaluation – were activities implemented as intended (for example: # of people served).
        • Outcome Evaluation – change in behavior, attitude or skills or impact of services in percentages. (for example: participant developed key competencies for daily life including school, work, relationships, etc.)
    6. Measuring success:
      • State how you will measure your goals: example: food log of outgoing baskets, client registration/intake forms, surveys, etc.
    7. Budget:
      • Organization Budget: itemized income and expenses for the entire organization
      • Program budget: itemized list of the program’s expected expenses for the current year – based on actual expenses provided or best practices for a program of this nature. 




Each section must be grounded in reliable research.  Please include your references.

Every proposal should be written in a manner that answers basic grant application questions.
