A few helpful answers
What does Dewlyn’s grant-writing service include?
Dewlyn Nonprofit Services prepares a customized grant proposal for private foundation and corporate funders. Each package includes the proposal narrative, operational and program budgets, a grant calendar, common grant application responses, letter of inquiry and sponsorship templates, a list of mission-aligned funders, and private consultation time with Cheryl Smith.
How much does grant-writing cost at Dewlyn?
Grant-writing packages are Basic $999, Standard $1,999, Premium $2,999 and Enterprise $3,999. International grant proposals are $3,600. Small business grant-writing is $1,250. Government grant-writing and submission starts at $3,200.
Can I use the proposal more than once?
Yes. It is designed for use across multiple applications. Tailor it to each funder’s requirements.
Will Dewlyn submit my applications?
Package applications are prepared for you to review and submit. Limited submission support is offered based on your selected package. Ongoing submissions are separately agreed. Grant submissions for private foundation funding are $90 to $500 per application, depending on complexity.
Can the proposal be used to apply for federal grants?
Our proposals are prepared for private foundation funding. Some content, such as program narratives and budgets, can be adapted for federal applications. However, federal grants usually require answers to a specific set of questions for each funding opportunity, so we offer government grant-writing as a separate service.
Do you have expertise in my nonprofit’s category?
Cheryl Smith has worked with a wide range of nonprofit categories, including veterans, homelessness, youth, animal rescue, and arts and culture. While every organization has unique goals, the process of preparing for and securing funding is the same. Cheryl tailors each proposal to present your organization’s strengths and impact.
How do payment plans and timing work?
We confirm your payment schedule and project milestones in your agreement before work begins.
Where are meetings held?
Meetings are held on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday via Zoom. You are welcome to invite your board or volunteers.
Does a grant-writing package guarantee funding?
No. Award decisions belong to the funder. Our service prepares your proposal and agreed supporting materials.

“Zenith is the word that comes to my mind when I think of the value of Dewlyn Nonprofit Services – Ms. Cheryl Smith. For my organization – a newly formed nonprofit who’s focus is on reducing and preventing gun violence in our communities, we found her services invaluable. The word zenith means, in this context, a time when something or someone is at their most powerful or successful state of being. This is what Cheryl Smith is (a Zenith); and what she has provided for me and my organization!”
“Cheryl’s expertise and dedication has yielded outstanding results for our organization. Thanks to her exceptional grant writing skills, our organization was able to secure significant federal grants that enabled us to expand our programs and make a greater impact in our community. Cheryl's grant writer's efforts have undoubtedly propelled our organization forward, and we are incredibly grateful for her invaluable contribution.”
“I first learn about Mrs. Cheryl Smith through a chance online Score webinar. I knew after speaking to her that the grant writing service was what we were missing to go forward! I am so thankful, and I look forward to many more times to collaborate and to garner the necessary tools to successfully get our nonprofit funded.”
“Working directly with Ms. Cheryl was a real blessing and I really appreciate her time and thought that she put in to preparing the grant proposal. The proposal articulated our mission, vision, and core values in a way that I had not been personally able to put into the specific and needed detail that she presented. I would highly recommend any nonprofit starting out to connect with Dewlyn Nonprofit Services. The service, the time, and the detail does not match the value that you truly receive for this proposal package. Thank you Dewlyn Nonprofit Services and a special thank you to Ms. Cheryl. I truly wish that I could clone you within our organization.”
“Working with Cheryl was an absolute pleasure! She is delightful, patient, informative, and incredibly knowledgeable.
